What are helpful subject-specific databases?

If TAMU libraries does not have an article, can I use Get it For Me while studying abroad?

Get it For Me can be used by any TAMU students, although if you are studying abroad you will not be able to request print books, but ebooks and articles are accessible. For books, you can request individual chapters from a print book - they will be scanned and sent to via email. Ebooks should be accessible from the Libraries Catalog but each ebook vendor platform can have different download/viewing restrictions, which you can usually find in the Help link in each ebook database.

For more information about how to determine if the library has the full text version of an article, consult this Q&A

What if I am having problems accessing TAMU Libraries resources while abroad?

Out-of-country access issues are quite common and can be related to a number of factors, such as your Internet connectivity speed, power charging issues, etc. Try to determine the best place to use your laptop, smartphone, or possibly use a computer in an Internet cafe.

If you are having trouble accessing library databases, please consult our Tech Troubleshooting page for immediate help. Of course, you may call, text, or email the library as well - the main number is 979-845-3731. Text # 979-256-1091. Library staff will try to put you in touch with one of our electronic resource librarians if it is a request that comes in Monday-Friday (8am - 5pm US Central time). Feel free to fill out the Report a Problem form as well and let us know the specific problem you are having.

If you are having problems with your netID or have forgotten your password, etc. you will need to contact the HelpDesk at 979-845-8300. The IT Department on campus also has useful Help Guides that can talk you through many computer issues, etc.
