Using Off-Campus Access
Start at the Medical Sciences Library website as you would while on campus. Either search the catalog for the journal or book you need; or click the database you want to use. When you access the TAMU subscription, a prompt for your NetID and password appears.

- Electronic journals (ejournals)
- Electronic books (ebooks)
Note:
- Some electronic resources don't require off campus logins.
- You do not need to log in to the proxy server before you look for your resource.

About
This guide explains the publishing evolution of Veterinary Clinics of North America (VCNA). Although Veterinary Clinics of North America are most often cited as though they are a journal (vol. X, issue Y, pages Z-ZZ), each volume is also cataloged as an individual book. This means to determine whether or not the volume you want to use is checked out, you look that volume up in the catalog. The following pages provide lists of volumes in each series with links to live searches in the catalog so you can determine where the item is that you would like to use and whether or not it is checked out.
Texas A&M University Libraries has online subscriptions to the Veterinary Clinics of North America. If you are using a computer on campus you do not need a login/password.

VCNA Publishing Evolution
Veterinary Clinics of North America are currently published as four separate sets.
- From 1971-1978 the title was Veterinary Clinics of North America.
- In 1979, the publication split into two sets: Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice and Veterinary Clinics of North America: Large Animal Practice.
- In 1985, Veterinary Clinics of North America: Large Animal Practice ceased and was replaced by two new titles: Veterinary Clinics of North America: Equine Practice, and Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practice.
- In 1998, the publishers added: Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice.
