Media Services, located on the 1st floor of Evans Annex, is home to the Libraries' largest collection of movies, music, and audiovisual equipment for checkout. Our mission is to support the instructional and research needs of Texas A&M faculty, staff, and students by collecting, maintaining and providing access to relevant media materials across the academic disciplines.

We have study rooms available for online reservation by individuals for quiet study and groups for collaboration and group learning. Many of the rooms are equipped with an OAL computer and/or a collaboration station.

Want the library to own a book or material? Ask us to buy it. The requester will be notified if the library can/can not make the purchase. The student, staff, or faculty member who requests the item will also be the first one to check it out.

The Studio is the Libraries newly re-imagined area that provides specialized services and tools for creating and editing graphics, video, audio, and multimedia projects. Our goal is to provide the Texas A&M University community with multimedia tools, expert assistance, and educational programming to support the creation of media-enriched instructional projects.

The College Music Society promotes music teaching and learning, musical creativity and expression, research and dialogue, and diversity and interdisciplinary interaction. A consortium of college, conservatory, university, and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music, the Society provides leadership and serves as an agent of change by addressing concerns facing music in higher education.

MTSMA is organized for scholarly and educational purposes. Its principal goal shall is to foster the discipline of music theory. MTSMA strives to disseminate information regarding all aspects of music theory through public forums, conferences, and publications. In these endeavors MTSMA encourages the highest standards in music theory research, creativity, and pedagogy.

The Society for Music Theory (SMT) promotes music theory as both a scholarly and a pedagogical discipline. Today our Society has a membership of over 1200 music theorists worldwide, whose interests embrace a varied and growing range of subject matter.

It recognizes music theory as a distinct discipline yet, at the same time, not separable from other disciplines of music. Its ideal therefore, is to advocate and uphold the highest standards of musicianship in all types and at all levels of music making.
