Texas Private Practice Veterinarians and Texas A&M DVM Alumni

Resources for DVM Alumni and Veterinary Practitioners

While Texas A&M Medical Sciences Library (MSL) affiliates do not have a TAMU NetID or a TAMHSC username, MSL provides them certain services. 

These groups include:

  • Veterinarians licensed in Texas.
  • Alumni who earned a DVM degree from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
    • AskMSL@library.tamu.edu or call 979-845-7428 about access to VetMed Resource database.
  • Veterinarians who completed a veterinary residency at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
  • Members of some veterinary associations and societies.

For CVM alumni, Texas veterinarians, and members of certain associations and societies there is no cost for:

Reference and Literature Searching Services

Texas A&M University Medical Sciences Library (MSL) librarians will provide both reference service and literature searches. 

  • License restrictions prevent us from providing direct access to our e-journals and databases.
  • Because of interlibrary loan and copyright fees, we cannot provide items from other libraries for people who are not faculty, staff, or students at Texas A&M University.
  • Items are not loaned from from reference, reserve, or special collections.
  • Request books through your public library’s interlibrary loan service. We do not loan copies of our books through Get it for me.
