ENTO 482 / FIVS 282 - Occupational & Professional Development (Spring 2025)

Professional Organizations

While campus organizations are very good to join in your quest to be a well-rounded student, they are not the same as joining professional organizations. The foundation of professional organizations includes individuals who are already actively employed in a field or who are training to join or advance in the field.

As you work to develop your professional network you need to strongly consider joining a professional organization as a student member. Doing this will give you access to dedicated trainings and job announcements that relate to your field and can help you stay up-to-date on advances in your industry.

Other Ways to Build Professional Connections

Do not let this list limit you, look at people you are connected with on LinkedIn - what professional organizations have they joined?
