For your CHEM 481 assignment, you'll need to use Web of Science (linked below) to locate scholarly articles on your topic.
To search for articles from particular source, choose Documents search then use the All Fields drop-down list to select Publication Titles and enter the title of the desired publication in the search bar and click Search. You can search for multiple publications by listing the additional titles in the search bar and separating them using the word OR (see screenshot below). This tells the database to look for each of the individual titles.
You can combine a topic search with a Publication Titles search in one of two ways. Choose the one that works for you!
Adding a Second Search Row - After building your Publication Titles search row but before clicking Search, click on +Add Row, enter your topic search terms (or keywords) into the new search row, and click Search.
You can search for a particular topic in Web of Science by simply by adding your search terms (or keywords) into the search bar and clicking Search.
Don't forget that Web of Science is essentially a database of citations. It's unlikely that the full-text of the article(s) you find listed will actually be available in Web of Science. Click on Find Text @TAMU or another full-text link at the bottom of a record to easily see if the article is freely available or available through a library databases.
*Important* - Don't pay to access an article! Use Get It For Me to request a copy! This free service enables TAMU students, faculty, and staff to get access to paid materials by checking our library databases and collections or borrowing a copy from another library.
