National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This campaign is focused each year in March to focus on the importance of informed nutritional behaviors and physical activity habits. National Nutrition Month® also contains Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, celebrated on the second Wednesday in March. This day increases awareness of registered dietitian nutritionists as essential providers of food and nutrition services and for their commitment to helping people enjoy healthy lives.
Texas A&M University’s Health Promotion office is promoting National Nutrition Month® with a variety of events addressing these barriers to prevent consequences in the future health of our Aggie student population. Programming includes, but is not limited to, cooking demonstrations for healthy meals, learning how to eat healthy on a budget, a campus food drive for The 12th Can, and a sharing of resources related to nutrition, dietetics, and food insecurity.
