Text that reads Aggies Against Violence, Recognizing the Prevention and Awareness of Human Trafficking Stalking and Dating Violence

January and February 2022 are national months of recognition for the following type of power-based personal violence, which adversely impact individuals, groups, and communities across our nation and world:

February 2022 is designated as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Since 2018, Health Promotion has observed programming related to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month by extending the discussion to adult relationships (e.g. intimate partner violence, dating violence, domestic violence). Both stalking and human trafficking can be classified as warning signs or types of dating violence, based on the relationship of the offender to the victim; one of our goals is to illuminate this fact in our January programming, and then use our time in February to each students that dating violence consists of multiple abuses, which may be physical and/or non-physical, rooted in power in control.

The resources below are available to help you build your knowledge about this commonly occurring crime in the month of February and throughout the year.
