OPERATIONS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC
• In an effort to practice responsible medical social distancing during the current Covid-19 pandemic, the COP Library Associate will be at an alternate work location from March 18 - August 01. The hours of the MSL@Kingsville may fluctuate during this time, subject to the availability of the COP Library Assistant.
For assistance, please contact the COP Librarian, Library Associate, or Library Assistant via email, as listed on the Pharmacy LibGuide Contacts page.
• Due to concerns related to handling of materials during the current Covid-19 pandemic, the MSL@Kingsville will no longer circulate (check-out) books to patrons. This status may last until April or May. Patrons may still use books in the library, and use the scanner to photocopy pages, during operating hours; or place photocopy requests. Patrons who already have books checked-out to them will be able to renew those books for an extended time online, or by contacting the Library Associate.
• The TAMU-MSL subscription to UpToDate expired on June 30th and will not be renewed. The technical issues of the unique access method (limiting access to one college) simply became too problematic to continue, while other comparable resources, such as Lexicomp and Micromedex, are already included in the MSL resource list.
• Residents, fellows, and students can register for personal subscriptions to all the same content and features of a pro subscription, at a reduced price, with proof of trainee status, from the UpToDate website. A personal subscription for a pharmacist student is approximately $25 per month, or $220 per year.
