Store Locations

Your stores location will ultimately influence the consumers view of your company [brand]. Opening a store in the wrong location will cause your shop to stick out in a bad way. Changing locations is difficult and costly, so insuring a good fit from the beginning through effective analysis processes is an important step.

Example from Simply Analytics.
You can create an account or log in as a guest. There are thousands of mapping points to use. Check out this tutorial from Miami University (skip to :30). Helpful when planning retail is the 'Businesses' tab, where you can create maps of business locations overlaying different segments. undefined

Example from Reference USA.
Select US Businesses, then Advanced Search. You can locate businesses geographically, by industry, and even by Executives' gender and ethnicity.

Distribution

Tip: In addition to using keywords like supply chain and suppliers to search for articles, also search for business logistics, joint ventures, partnerships, distributors, procurement, purchasing, inventory management, outsourcing, warehousing, logistics, and operations management.

For researching a company's suppliers and customers, look at news and trade journals and SEC filings, as well as a company's investor relations webpage and annual reports for information on joint ventures and partnerships.

Example from IBISWorld USA
The Products & Markets section gives information on supply chain and demand determinants. This example is from the
Global Car & Automobile Manufacturing report.

Example from the Journal of Transport & Supply Chain Management
Search for 'Supply Chain' in the eJournals section of library.tamu.edu. Use 'contains' instead of 'starts with' to increase results. undefined
