Sign-up for Get It For Me

To have library materials sent to you:

Create a Get It For Me account. This account will allow you to request and borrow both TAMU library materials as well as materials from other libraries (Interlibrary Loan). https://getitforme.library.tamu.edu/illiadlocal/

-Click on the left maroon box: "TAMU / PSEL / BLCC Qatar Libraries"

-Under “Status,” select “Distance Education Student - McAllen.”

-Be sure to enter the correct delivery address as your home address. This is where your materials will be sent.  It must be a street address, as FedEx will not deliver to a P.O. Box.

-Request needed materials using the library website (library.tamu.edu) or library databases and click the Get It button for the item you are interested in receiving.

Get It For Me

Get It For Me is a FREE service offered to students to make materials  available and accessible to you. If the Libraries do not have what you need, Get It For Me will look for that resource, book, article, etc., at other libraries. When found, it will be shipped to you (or emailed if a digital resource).

Using Get It For Me
TAMU Libraries will obtain a PDF copy of an article when you place a request through the online Get It For Me service.

  1. Go to the online form and logon using your university NetID and password.
  2. First time users will need to fill out the "registration" form; this information will pre-populate your future requests.
  3. Once registered, you have the option of selecting a request for a journal article, book, book chapter, etc.
  4. Allow roughly 24 hours for processing by our library staff members (during normal business hours, Mon - Fri).
  5. The library will notify you by email when the PDF is available for you to download from our servers (takes roughly 2-7 days from request to receipt of PDF).

**The FAQ page explains more about the guidelines for using the service.
