Medical Sciences Library - Staff Profiles

Kathy Carter

Howdy! I am the Research & Education Librarian for South Texas and joined Texas A&M University in June 2024.  Prior to Texas A&M, I served as the Research & Education Librarian for the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Librarian for UT Health San Antonio headquartered at the Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen, Texas. I grew up in the Coastal Bend and have lived in the Rio Grande Valley for over 20 years.

I work remotely in collaboration with the Medical Sciences Library team in College Station and our regional campuses to enhance access to resources for the teaching, learning, and research activities of health sciences programs based in Corpus Christi, Kingsville, and McAllen.

What I Can Do For You

I provide services such as general research assistance, literature searching, identifying educational resources for teaching or study/exam preparation, citation assistance and management, and navigating resources to support evidence-based practice. I can also provide workshops or classes tailored to the needs of a course or program.
